CALS Birmingham
Lisa is an RN, IBCLC and breastfeeding mother to 3 precious breastfed children. Lisa has been an RN working with moms and babies for over 17 years. She has been an IBCLC for 9 years. She has taught prenatal breastfeeding classes, is a certified BCLS instructor, and is ‘Happiest Baby on the Block’ certified. Lisa is passionate about helping families find breastfeeding solutions that work for their particular situation. Lisa provides in-home visits in Shelby and Jefferson Counties (including Birmingham and all areas south).
CALS EAST
Amanda has been an RN for 18 years and an IBCLC for 10 years. She began her nursing career in the Emergency Department and later her local Health Department. She fell in love with breastfeeding after having her first child in 2006. She enjoyed helping family and friends through her personal experience. After realizing helping mothers breastfeed successfully was her life’s calling, she accepted a job at NEARMC in 2007. She worked in Lactation, Newborn Nursery, and Postpartum. She became IBCLC certified in 2011. While at NEARMC she did bedside lactation services, led outpatient breastfeeding support groups, and did outpatient consultations. She also led her local chapter of Baby Cafe. She did in office breastfeeding consultations and taught a Breastfeeding Class for expectant parents with a local OBGYN. In June of 2016 she opened a Mother Baby store/ Breastfeeding Service Center. Since closing her business she has been doing private in home consultations. Amanda is a wife and a mother of three girls, all of whom she breastfed long term. Amanda provides in-home visits in Jacksonville, Gadsden, Anniston, Boaz, and Centre.
Andrea is an RN who has worked with moms and babies for over 30 years and has been an IBCLC for 11 years. She has worked in Labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursery in various hospitals across the nation. She is experienced in working with breastfeeding moms at the bedside, through support groups, outpatient private consults, and telephone triage. Andrea has taught prenatal and breastfeeding classes. She has breastfed six children—two until the age of three. She is a lifelong learner and is passionate about assisting, educating and empowering breastfeeding mothers. Andrea provides in-home visits in Jacksonville, Gadsden, Anniston, and Cleburne County.
Jennifer has been an RN for 25 years and and IBCLC for 21 years. She has worked on the OB unit at a local hospital her entire nursing career. She also received her Masters Degree in Nursing Administration and is a CAPPA Certified Childbirth Educator. She is trained with RTS as a bereavement counselor, assisting families who have experienced infant loss in pregnancy. She also has experience with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome and started an Alabama non-profit organization to assist babies struggling with substance exposure in pregnancy. She serves on the Board with BEST and the Alabama Breastfeeding Committee, and served as co-chair of the Breastfeeding Friendly Childcare Committee. Jennifer was also instrumental in the certification process for Alabama’s first Baby Friendly Hospital. She is experienced with working with breastfeeding mothers at the bedside, through support groups, outpatient private consults, and phone triage. She has personal experience with overcoming breastfeeding challenges. She breastfed 3 children, including one adopted child. Her last child was breastfed for 3 years. Jennifer is passionate about educating and empowering breastfeeding mothers. Jennifer provides in-home visits in Oxford/ Anniston, Wellington, Delta, Lincoln, and Heflin.
Kasey is a wife and mother. She has been married to her husband Anthony for 14 years and they have 5 precious children ranging in age from 1 to 11 years old. Her life’s calling has been to help mothers and babies. She has been assisting mothers and babies in the hospital setting since 2003. She has been a nurse for 15 years and has been an IBCLC for 8 years. She has worked NICU, newborn nursery, post partum and done bedside lactation. She has also supported moms and babies in outpatient settings including private consults, support groups, telephone triage and a local OB/GYN office. She has taught prenatal and natural childbirth classes. Her love for lactation grew when she experienced difficulties after the birth of her first child. She was determined to help other moms have a better experience with breastfeeding. She has successfully breastfed all 5 of her children, 3 of those long term and one she is currently nursing. Kasey provides in-home visits in Lineville, Anniston, Carrollton-GA, Gadsden, and Jacksonville.
CALS Auburn
Sarah is an Auburn resident, married to her husband, Ben. She has 3 daughters aged 16,14,and 10. She is an RN, IBCLC. Sarah has 19 years of experience in Women’s Health Services, ranging from labor and delivery to nursery and postpartum care. She also has 10 years of experience as a lactation consultant. Sarah enjoys caring for and educating new parents on caring for their babies and attaining their breastfeeding goals. Sarah provides in-home visits in the Auburn and Opelika areas.
CALS SOUTH
Carrie is an RN and IBCLC who has been working with mothers and babies for over 24 years. She has level 3 NICU, postpartum, labor and delivery, newborn nursery. and in-hospital lactation experience. Carrie has 2 children and 6 years of personal breastfeeding experience. Her experiences with extended breastfeeding and her passion to support mothers and babies throughout each stage of breastfeeding are such an asset to breastfeeding families. Carrie provides in-home visits in Jemison, Thorsby, Alabaster, Sylacauga, Columbiana, Prattville, and all areas in between. Carrie also covers areas in greater Birmingham, Jefferson and Shelby counties.
Shelby is the Office Manager and Billing Coordinator for Central Alabama Lactation Services.
